Michał is an entrepreneur and software developer. In 2014 he co-founded Lakion, company providing commercial services around an open-source e-commerce solution - Sylius. He is a clean code devotee and a BDD practitioner.
Paweł is an entrepreneur and software developer from Poland. In 2011 he created Sylius, an open source e-commerce solution based on the Symfony2 framework. The project is still in development with nearly 200 contributors and almost 800,000 downloads. It has been adopted by various start-ups, small businesses and enterprises worldwide. Lakion, the company he co-founded in 2014, provides the full-range of commercial services around Sylius.
Building applications that follow the REST architectural style can be quite hard and troublesome. Like most other web frameworks out there, Symfony does not have any built-in mechanism for building well-behaved web APIs. On the other hand, there are many open source libraries that we can find useful, so make use of them! I will show you how easy it can be to build your own mature, RESTful API using open-source software and even how you can do it in minutes using Lionframe! During the workshop we will implement a simple web application together with its API. Knowledge of PHP is everything you need to take part in this workshop.
